The Misericordia Friends

Who are those Friends?

The Misericordia Friends group is made up of christians who feel called to become missionaries of Mercy within the world in solidarity with the mission of the Misericordia Sisters.

Everyone is given time in which to integrate this spirituality, as well as occasions of revitalization such as exchange and sharing encounters about a Biblical text, S.I.E. (the Saint Ignatius Exercises in current life), an annual retreat, special sessions, etc. Moreover, along the year, the group sets up activities that provide all members opportunities to share and socialize.

Apostolate

Each person lives out his or her commitment in his or her own occupations and within his or her own walk of life. According to each one's availability, the Friends take part in the mission either regularly or whenever they can.

Commitment

After a personal journeying, within the group, each member, on the occasion of the annual commitment, in Church, promises to live out the spirituality of Mercy in line with the mission of the Institute.

Operation of the groups

A coordinator provides animation as well as the operation of groups in cooperation with a coordination committee and subcommittees. Though each group is autonomous in its operation, it is represented by one of its members in the coordination committee, which promotes cohesion of all Friends residing in different cities.

Where are they?

There are groups of Friends in Canada: Montreal and Gatineau in the province of Québec, in Toronto in Ontario and in Ecuador: Pascuales, Guayaquil in the Province of Guayas.

Commitment

I,_______________, pledge myself, as a Friend of the Institute, to live mercy in our world in solidarity with the mission of the Misericordia Sisters.

Mary, Mother of Mercy, help us to live our commitment. This we ask our Heavenly Father through Jesus who is indeed our Lord and Savior. Amen.
